Daybook for Monday 14th July

For Today...

Outside my Window... a gentle rain is falling. It is a much needed rain, but I am waiting for it to stop so we can all go out to check on the rabbit.

I am thinking... about whether the kids will keep up their end of looking after the rabbit :) And how cute he is. I am only thinking it because of my previous answer though LOL.

I am thankful for... a lovely weekend. DH and I cooked together yesterday- he did the steaks on the grill and I did the sides. DELICIOUS!

From the kitchen... Chicken drumsticks and some sides- I am still working on what precisely!

I am creating... an art journal. Well I MADE it yesterday, I am going to be working in it soon :)

I am going... to post off our evaluation and notice of intent this week. I SHOULD have asked DH to do it this morning, BUT I forgot because we were running late.

I am wearing... pink T-shirt, denim skirt and bare feet. My hair is wet, so I put it up in a clip.

I am reading... the latest Country Living UK edition and a couple of novels.

I am hoping... to work on a pastel self-portrait this week. I'll have to find a mirror though :)

I am hearing...Silence. Wonder what the kids are up to?

Around the house... laundry (as per normal) and some summer school work to catch up with. And a new bunny to play with outside ;)

One of my favorite things... is when the kids are artistically inspired by the things *I* do :)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... finish the swap and mail it, mail the NOI and Evaluation, draw, paint, read.... and the chores around the house ;)

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

It's been awhile, so I thought you'd like a sunset :) Stop by Peggy's house for the other daybook entries :)

  1. I spotted the 'Jacobite' in your title, and just *had* to pay you a visit - and am I ever glad I did!! Not only a fellow Catholic, but also a very interesting woman, to boot! I will be back, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Have a lovely week with your artistic pursuits; you are inspiring me!

    God Bless,

  2. Why thank you Shani :) The Jacobite title is a long winded but interesting story and has to do with my HUSBAND being into the Jacobean time period :) Me, I like the Jacobean rose and all the other interesting implications within the name!

  3. Ok. This will sound like copying, but it's true. Jacobite in your title caught my attention too! Great minds, right Shani? (We're already friends, Shani and I:} )

I'm now going to have to research just what that is!! You have me curious!
I loved your site! I'll definitely be back!

    Thanks for sharing,

  4. LOL Well originally a Jacobite was a supporter (and usually a Scottish one) of King James II of England and Scotland. He was Catholic and the 'rightful' ruler, but the English parliament decided that they could not possibly have a Catholic King, so they 'gave' the crown to Mary and William, each the ruler in their own right. They were both cousins and decendants of the royal line, just not as direct as James.
Later, the Jacobites supported Bonny Prince Charlie :) There were two or three Jacobite risings, and my husband's Scottish ancestor was in one of them :) So THAT'S what a Jacobite is!

  5. I love your blog :)

Great daybook and great sunset, I also posted one on my entry for today :)

  6. I enjoyed reading your daybook. Your blog appearance is very nice.

  7. Another comment after reading those on the right. The Diana Garibaldon series is a very good set of novels which cover some of the Jacobite period. You'll fall in love with the characters.
