This is the mini project for September 09.
Hello, Spinneretta!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing about trying to do a project with "help' from the kids.
You've got a wonderful result despite the assistance! :)
LOL yes, 'help' involved opening other bottles of ink, putting ink on another dip pen, helpfully suggesting I use a feathered quill pen, and interrupting me to complain how I wouldn't let them use the dip pens :) Not too bad- I grew up the eldest of 5 so I am fairly even keeled about it :p
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - and kudos for doing a project with your kids around - I never could!
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks Casey :) I'm kind of used to it now (often they join in and draw too ;))
ReplyDeleteWow!Very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI love how this came out. Then again, I'm partial to pen and ink. My hands are splotchy on a weekly basis. ;o)
ReplyDeletePeace and Laughter!
Thanks Ann!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cristina- next up for my artistic adventures- figuring out how to do ink washes ;) I am sure I'll be more blotchy then :p
Your flamingo is amazing! So glad to hear the kids got to play with you. I love creating with the kids around. Now that they are older they are all creative, designing their own projects, asking me to play with them. So FUN!
ReplyDeleteboyohboy - this is one of my favorite birds, and you've done a great job capturing it. Congrats
ReplyDeleteThank you Kimberly and Phyllis :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful flamingo. They are such fascinating birds to watch and you've done a great job at capturing one!
ReplyDeleteLove your sketch! I had to wait til my kids went to college before I was brave enough to get started on a project.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love how you've done the border! And with all that distraction, it is amazing that it turned out so well!
ReplyDeleteThe flamingo is delightful! You deserve a medal for being brave enough to use a dip pen and ink with eager little helpers about.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sketch this is! Very confident, and portrays all the right lines to show what a graceful bird this is. :) You don't stop impressing!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you all :)
ReplyDeleteFfyrebird- I admit it- I squealed at them a few times when they tried to join in- I was terrified they'd spill it on the carpet ;)
Ellen, Raena and Debbie, thanks :)
Alex- you never fail to give wonderful and thoughtful compliments :) Thank you!
