Title page with a quote from Leonardo Da Vinci... to remind me to draw daily! "Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses it's purity and in cold weather becomes frozen Even so does inaction sap the vigours of the mind."
When M'Lady brought her nature box in, and showed me this shell, I wanted to draw it. I liked the colours and the idea of putting it in my new journal really appealed...So I experimented with ink and colour pencils, and positioning.
Today I headed outside into the garden to draw. My picture is not as finished as I would have liked... I can't tolerate 90 degree weather for long! Luckily though, the blue page doesn't reflect like the white paper did!
You certainly are a busy and talented lady! Love your new journal and blog. I had almost as much fun exploring your sidebars as enjoying your sketches.
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous...and i never thought of using the binding machine for a sketch book...great idea!!! I did think about binding books of all the kids sketches i have done for their teacher, ta and I but never one to start with...will have to remember that one!
ReplyDeleteThese pages are beautiful...love the papers you used...very informative journal making info as well! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I don't blame you for not staying out long in the 90-degree weather for long!
ReplyDeleteI really like the poppy! The layout is strong and the weather box is a nice element. The light areas of the poppy are a great focal point.
ReplyDeleteEven if you think it's not as finished, that keeps it light and appealing, at least to me.
Thank you Barbara... I try to organise the sidebars so that people can navigate their way :)
ReplyDeleteMaggie: I am glad I could give you an idea :)
Thank you Margaret Ann.
Diane: they say it is only to get hotter this weekend!
Monette: Thank you! I would have liked to add some leaves, but that heat... ;)
I love all your drawings -I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
Cheryl
