Monthly Sketch Project: October 09

My first attempt at this month's Monthly Sketch Project.
I opted for an impressionistic pastel pencil piece- limited palette since I have only 12 pastel pencils. Slightly blurry at the edge since my book cannot quite fit onto the scanner :)
I liked the effect of the way I used the pencils- not so satisfied with the result. Oh well- I have a few weeks still :)

    I think it is the lack of colour variation- I needed to make the darks and lights different :) But I still kind of like it :)

    You managed to get great depth, it works really well in portrait, sometimes it is good to try something different.
