Another yarn along... another day.
this week I have two finished objects to post...
A matinee cardigan I made for a toddler. I adapted an Elizabeth Zimmerman baby pattern... well actually I used her increases to make up my own cardigan LOL but went with the 'gull stitch' lace pattern she mentioned. I was very pleased with the way it came out- especially since I had to do an afterthought buttonhole. That's a pain on a small cardigan like this!
And a miniature Christmas stocking. This too is my own design- commissioned by a friend for a project idea I have in mind. This is the prototype which will eventually sit on my knitted decoration garland :)
On my needles now- well on my hook is the filigree cardigan and I am planning to start Alan Dart's fairy mouse :)
As to what I am reading- well I still have Harmony and the Creative Space book on my pile... but my novel has changed to a Heather Graham one, and Bill Bryson's Notes from a Small Island has joined the lot!
the top sweater is soo pretty! I love the yarn, it look similar to what i'm knitting for my daughter now!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cute sweater. Impressive!
ReplyDeleteThank you both!
ReplyDeleteAppledapple- yes it is like the yarn for your daughter :)
Beautiful sweater! I love the color and the stitch pattern. I am always in awe of those that can design their own patterns. I still have trouble following a pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
Blessings, Elizabeth
Such a cute cardigan! OH and that filigree! Amazing. I hope it turns out.
ReplyDeleteGreat sweater! I love it! EZ would be pleased!
ReplyDeleteLovely cardigan!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweater - so sweet and dainty!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I ever, ever read Bill Bryson was on a plane headed to Britain for the first time. Bad, bad move, I'm certain the entire planeload thought I was insane what with the laughing aloud, snickering and snorting to myself going on. ;)
Elizabeth: Thank you :) It comes with practise... but you start by adapting a pattern that is not quite how you want it :)
ReplyDeleteSherry: Thanks- I finished Filigree last night and am now waiting for a top that will work with it for a good photo opportunity LOL
Kristi: Thanks!
Wendy: Thank you!
Lisa: Thanks- it was a fun pattern :)
Adele: Bryson certainly is a hoot :) I have to read passages aloud to DH which makes him slow reading LOL
Rosina: Thank you!
Jen: LOL sounds like a great way to spend a flight to me ;)
